My Favorite Christmas Movies

These movies are always in rotation in my house.

It’s that time of year when Christmas movies are on heavy rotation on TV and streaming services. Many households will be watching their favorite Christmas movies this weekend (especially if you are in the United States and experiencing some record snowfall and temperatures).

Several Christmas movies are always on rotation in my house. Some are annual watching that we await to come on the local networks. Others are on our favorite streaming services, ready to watch whenever the mood strikes.

You’ll see a few traditional Christmas classics along with some newer films. And one film, in particular, has caused a debate over its status as a Christmas movie.

A Christmas Story

One of the all-time Christmas classics and taking place in the 1950s, this 1983 film recounts a memorable Christmas for Ralphie Parker and his family. At the same time, it takes place in a bygone era, and the theme of a little boy who only wants one thing for Christmas and is determined to let Santa know strikes a chord even with modern audiences.
