In 1998, Halloween: H20 was released. It was meant as a direct sequel to the original film and ignored the supernatural mess that was the “Thorn Trilogy”. Jamie Lee Curtis returned as Laurie Strode, who faked her death to get away from her murderous brother, Michael Myers.

Twenty years after Michael Myers’ rampage of death, he is presumed to have died in an explosion at the hospital. Dr. Loomis is believed to have started the fire. After the doctor’s death, his former colleague Marion goes to the home they shared, to find it broken into and the files about Laurie Strode missing. She tries to get help from her teenage neighbor Jimmy, only to find him dead; Marion is then killed by Michael, who steals Jimmy’s car.

Meanwhile, Laurie is living under an assumed name in Summer Glen, California. She is the headmistress of Hillcrest Academy and lives there with her son, John. Laurie, still haunted by the trauma of her encounter with Michael, has become a paranoid alcoholic. While the students prepare to go on a trip to Yosemite, she forbids John from going, worried that something bad will happen to him.

Since he must stay behind, John, Molly, Charlie, and Sarah decide to have a little Halloween party in secret. That…
