Rob Zombie made a career as a musician as a heavy metal act. His lyrics and music videos often had elements of horror films, and it was just a matter of time before he tried his hands at making his horror movie. His debut film, 2003’s House of 1000 Corpses, gave audiences a taste of what he could do.

The film follows four young people on a road trip 1977 to document strange roadside attractions. They stop at a gas station run by Captain Spalding (Sid Haig), who takes them on his haunted ride behind the gas station. He then intrigues the group with the story of Dr. Satan.

After being given directions to Dr. Satan's burial site, they stop to pick up a hitchhiker named Baby Firefly (Shari Moon Zombie). She tells them her house is nearby, and they have a tire blowout. Lucky for the group, her brother brings a tow truck and takes the group to the Firefly residence.

The family acts progressively strange, with Baby hitting on the group's male members (Rainn Wilson and Chris Hardwick). They are also introduced to Otis (Bill Moseley), who is revealed to be a homicidal maniac.

When the group attempts to leave, the family captures them. The real horror begins as the group tries to escape.

House of 1000 Corpses is probably Zombie’s best film. It has some great scares and…
